Steps For Mercedes-Benz Check Engine Light Reset

Follow the steps below for a Mercedes-Benz check engine light reset:

  1. Insert your key into the ignition switch and turn it to the on position without starting the car. Look at the display on the instrument cluster between the speedometer and the tachometer.
  2. You should see four buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Press the lower left button on the left side. The display will then reveal why the check engine light is illuminated. Usually, it’s because the vehicle is overdue for service. Push the lower left button on the steering wheel again, and you should see the vehicle mileage on the display.
  3. Press the lower right button on the left side of your steering wheel, and again it will show the reason why the “check engine” light is on.
  4. Find the reset button on the left side of your instrument cluster. Press the reset button and hold it until your display shows “To reset: Press reset button for 3 seconds.”
  5. Push the reset button again and hold it in until the display shows the system has been reset. It should also inform you of the next service date based on your mileage.
