What Is My Car Maintenance Schedule?

Man Fixing Bottom of Car

Every Centerville-area driver should be keeping track of their recommended car maintenance schedule, and that goes double for those who choose a precisely crafted and specified vehicle like a Mercedes-Benz.  Although all of our new vehicles include an ASSYST Plus service tracker that will let you know when to schedule service, knowing your Mercedes-Benz service schedule can help you plan proactively and make your visits to our service center more convenient.

Mercedes-Benz Service A

If you drive a Mercedes-Benz vehicle made during or after MY-2009, there are two basic components to your car maintenance schedule. The first is Mercedes-Benz Service A*, which should be scheduled for the first time after one year or 10,000 miles. It includes the following checks and replacements:

  • Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement^
  • Oil Filter Replacement^
  • All fluid level checks and corrections, according to recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s make and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter

Please adhere to all service and maintenance requirements for your unique model and model year, as laid out in your owner’s manual.

Mercedes-Benz Service B

For any model made during or after MY-2009, Mercedes-Benz Service B* comes after 20,000 miles or two years. This visit is identical in most respects to Service A, but it includes several checks that don’t need to occur quite as often. Here’s what you can expect from your Service B visit:

  • Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement^
  • Oil Filter Replacement^
  • All fluid level checks and corrections, according to recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s make and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Reset maintenance counter

Here as well, you need to adhere to all service and maintenance requirements for your unique model and model year, as laid out in your owner’s manual.

What Is My Car Maintenance Schedule After 20,000 Miles?

After you pass 20,000 miles on the roads near South Riding and Ashburn, you’ll generally continue to schedule service once every 10,000 miles, or roughly once per year. As we noted above, your ASSYST Plus tracker will light up when you’re due. For most visits, you’ll be alternating between Service A and Service B.  However, these aren’t the only indicators that can pop-up on your dashboard. If you notice C, D, E, or F, don’t panic. Each of these letters only indicates that a few more components or service fluids will need to be checked or replaced while you’re in the shop**. Your ASSYST Plus tracker will tell us what needs to happen; all you need to do is schedule service. However, it’s still a good idea to learn how to check your coolant level or how to inspect other components at home.
