Introducing the 2022 EQB

If you’re on the hunt for a versatile and capable EV that offers leading luxury features, you can’t afford to miss one of this year’s most exciting releases: the 2022 EQB from Mercedes-EQ! The EQB is the first SUV to be offered with one of the German manufacturer’s electric powertrains, and once you’ve seen what it can do, we’re sure that you’ll be ready to dive head-first into the future of performance. We’re still awaiting final details on this model, but our guide to the 2022 EQB covers everything that we know so far!
What Should You Know About the 2022 EQB?
There’s still a fair amount that we don’t know about the first Mercedes-EQ electric SUV, but the information that we do have paints a very appealing picture. Although we still have several months before this model arrives in South Riding and Centerville, you can get a sense of what sets it apart today:
- EQB Performance: The 2022 EQB will be offered with at least two powertrains. The more accessible 300 model will deliver 225 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque, while the 350 upgrade will provide 288 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque. 4MATIC® AWD is always standard.
- EQB Charging Times: With a 240V outlet, the EQB can charge from 10% to 100% in just 7.5 hours. At a public DC Fast Charging station, you can go from 10% to 80% in a lightning-fast 32 minutes. The EQB has been built with a 420V lithium-ion battery and a 66.5 kWh battery capacity, but range estimates are not yet available.
- EQB Technology Features: The EQB has been designed with all the latest tech, including the MBUX Multimedia System, Natural Language Understanding, Navigation with optional Augmented Reality, and an Interior Widescreen Cockpit. Electric Intelligence and ECO Assist ensure that your driving and recharging experiences are as efficient as they can be—and the EQB will also come equipped with the brand’s most advanced driver assistance features.
- EQB Design: With a 111.3-inch wheelbase, the first Mercedes-EQ SUV is undeniably compact. However, if the standard five-passenger seating capacity isn’t sufficient for your needs, you can upgrade with an optional third row! In five-passenger models, you’ll have 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats—and even more if you fold your rear seats flat.
- EQB Exterior: The EQB is loosely based on the existing GLB SUV, but its exterior design distinguishes it from all of its gas-powered rivals. Continuous light strips for the front and rear complement the traditional headlights, and a black panel “grille” replaces the traditional front air intakes. Moreover, the headlights emit blue light for a unique and futuristic feel.
